Naturopathic medicine is an individual approach to helping the body heal itself using natural therapies.  It can be used to treat as well as prevent disease.  Almost any condition can benefit from Naturopathic medicine including; weight management issues, addictive conditions, anxiety, insomnia, nerve pain, muscle pain, joint pain, chronic fatigue, headaches, sinusitis, ringing in the ears, heart conditions, diabetes, urinary problems, thyroid conditions, eye conditions and women’s health concerns. Naturopathic Doctors are medically trained and federally licensed health care practitioners.  They receive a minimum of 8 years university training and are covered by most insurance policies.

Many different types of therapies can be utilized including:

Clinical Nutrition & Supplementation

Nutrition is vital as it provides us with the building blocks for our body. Many nutrients are needed to make sure our biochemical pathways function properly. Conventional medicine uses drugs to affect our body’s natural processes. Nutrition & proper supplementation can be used therapeutically to strengthen and support these same functions.

Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine

Acupuncture uses very fine needles to stimulate the energy channels of the body. Oriental herbs can also affect these channels which help to balance and heal the body.

Botanical/Herbal Medicine

Herbal medicine uses specific parts of plants to strengthen, support and nourish the body. Herbs can be used alone or in combination to promote the same pathways that conventional drugs do and therefore may be used to treat disease as well as prevent it.

Lab Testing & Analysis

Advanced lab analysis on blood can confirm or identify underlying concerns that may have previously gone undetected. Testing and interpretation can prove pivotal in obtaining the right diagnosis and providing the answers that you have been looking for.

Food Intolerance & Sensitivity Testing

Food intolerance or Immunoglobulin G (IgG) testing helps to very specifically identify the foods that your body is over-reacting to. It takes the guesswork out of your diet and may provide a more effective alternative to elimination diets.
