Registered Massage Techniques

Our Massage Techniques

Massage Therapy is the holistic application of physical touch to affect the systems of the body, ie. muscular, skeletal, digestive, elimination, respiratory, circulatory, lymphatic, endocrine, and nervous systems. It is the manipulation of the soft tissues of the body with the hands for therapeutic healing, restoration and relaxation.

Certified Foot Reflexology

As a Certified Foot Reflexologist with the Reflexology Association of Canada, I offer an all encompassing treatment that sequentially affects all the systems of the body through the feet. Reflexology is an excellent modality to release tension and supports the body to normalize itself naturally without adverse side effects. Sessions that are 60 minutes or more have the option to include a lower leg and head, neck, shoulder massage.

Hot Stone Massage

Hot Stone Therapy treatments are available which are an excellent modality for general relaxation and deep muscle release due to the effect of the heat from the stones. Where indicated, cold stones are applied to contrast with the hot stones which greatly increases the circulation improving tissue recovery and invigorating the entire body.

Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy® is a form of gravity assisted barefoot effleurage where the practitioner's body weight and feet are used to provide a relaxing deep tissue treatment. The Registered Massage Therapist is holding bars secured in the ceiling as they balance their weight over the client to provide slow, fluid, smooth strokes to elongate the muscles along the spine relieving muscular discomfort and chronically shortened muscles. The flowing movements help the body's lymphatic system release toxins and the nervous system to move into parasympathetic mode.

Ashi-Thai is a mixture of traditional Thai massage movements that have been modified to use with overhead bars. The technique is performed fully clothed without any lubrication. The therapist uses her hips, legs, ankles and feet to lift the client’s limbs into positions for stretching or compression. Ashi-thai is an excellent passive stretching series that is effective for decreasing general stiffness and increasing flexibility, particularly for athletic people to enhance performance and recovery
